Emma's Flame, Superior

D&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rules

by Clive Squire

Emma's Flame, Superior

Transmutation

Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V, S, M, F
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Target/Area/Effect: Weapon touched
Duration: Special; see text
Saving Throw: Willpower negates (object)
Spell Resistance: Yes (object)

Calling on primordial magic, you imbue great potential into the weapon you touch, leaving it apparently normal, except for a faint pulsing red glow in the weapons metal, until it is needed.

As Emma's flame, except as noted. Emma's superior flame allows you to enchant a weapon so that it produces other effects other than the flaming quality and has a greater enhancement bonus.

The magic of the spell allows you to turn the weapon into a magic weapon, complete with magical qualities. The weapon is treated as if you had created it, thus your level must be three times the enhancement bonus of the desired weapon and must meet the other prerequisites of the magic weapon in order to bring that magic out of the weapon.

Material Components: Specially scribed mundane scrolls which contain the descriptions of the effects of the spells that are required to make the magic weapon.

Focus: The weapon.
