Scimitar of BastSAGA Rulesby Eric JwoThe scimitar of glory known as the Scimitar of Bast appeared right after the Cataclysm. Also known as Bast's Blade, this weapon was found in the uninhabited city of Mereklar just as it's current inhabitants found their salvation. Their old homes shattered during the apocalyptic Cataclysm, these humans wandered the hills surrounding their former homes until they found an empty city, complete with everything they ever needed. In addition to the bountiful supplies, cats roamed the streets of Mereklar without a care. This scimitar was found in the exact center of the city, deep within a mansion that the famous Majere twins would visit at a later date. Encrusted with jewels, and inlaid with dragonmetal, this precious weapon stood as a shining symbol to the people of Mereklar. And so, they rebuilt their lives. The scimitar bore the inscription "Bast," next to an engraving of a cat's paw. After the city was saved from destruction by a mysterious figure named Bast (along with the Majere twins and Earwig Lockpicker), the scimitar was attributed to this famous figure. When the War of the Lance scoured the countryside, Bryon Taggerdale, the village's magistrate, wielded the scimitar against a troop of draconians who threatened to overrun the city. He rallied the militia, and managed to defeat the draconians against overwhelming odds. However, after the Summer of Chaos and the Second Cataclysm, the magical scimitar disappeared from the armory of Mereklar. No one knows where it went. However, the rulers of Mereklar will pay a lot for it. The scimitar is a weapon of glory, giving it a +8 bonus, and a total Dmg. of +14. Against dragons or dragonkin (wyverns, behirs, draconians, spawn, etc.), the Dmg. is doubled. The scimitar can also be commanded to glow, shedding light in a 20' radius. Any person wielding this weapon gets an automatic Trump bonus to actions involving sneakiness (sneaking past a guard, hiding in the shadows, etc.). He or she also gets an automatic Trump bonus when dealing with any felines.
