Thread NecromancyD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Clive SquireThread NecromancyNecromancy [Evil] Level: Brd 5, Blk 4, Clr/Mys 5, Sor/Wiz 5 By intently focusing your energies and attention on the flashing crystalline square in front of you and quickly moving your fingers, pressing the blocks while your other hand manipulates the mouse, you infuse a thread with fell necrotic energies, raising it from the veil of death. By the use of this spell, you can infuse a single dead thread and cause it to appear hale and interesting to those that view it. The caster can attempt to raise more than one thread, but each consecutive casting of the thread necromancy spell within a 24 hour period has a slim chance of draw the attention of the Starmaster. The Starmaster is an immensely powerful servant of the High God who tirelessly works to ensure progress, continuity and order over the forums of Krynn. The caster must make a Bluff or Diplomacy skill check at a DC 15 + the number of casting of the thread necromancy spell in the 24 hour period. Should the attention of the Starmaster be drawn on the raised thread, he immediately intervenes and halts the magics that animate the thread. If the caster has not cast the spell multiple times, the caster does not draw the attention of the Starmaster and he animates the thread. The thread remains animated for as long as the caster continues to concentrate on the thread. After the caster has stopped concentrating on the thread, the magics that infused it slowly ebb away, allowing it to continue for another 1 hour per caster level before reverting back into the dead thread. While concentrating on the thread, the caster has limited control over the thread, allowing it to appear fresh and new. Arcane Material Components: A flat crystalline square, about 100 small lettered and numbered blocks set into wood and a mouse (living or dead).
