Potter's MillArticle written by Kranar Drogin & trogers81Potter's Mill is a small village located in the province of Coastlund in Solamnia. The village is situated along the western edge of the Vingaard Mountains, east of the Warden Swamp, and northeast of Manydell. The quaint village had unpathed dirt roads that lead out from Town Square. This village was not without businesses, having a small inn and an outfitter, a trade post, and a single tavern. The most important building of the town was the house of their unofficial leader, Shemnara. HistoryThe village of Potter's Mill was under the control of a bandit leader named Gadion for years prior to the War of the Lance. He would demand a part of their food and goods as his tribute. The citizens paid, unable to fight back against the bandit king. As the War of the Lance drew nigh, some of the citizens of Potter's Mill longed to join the fight. They left as young and inexperienced and came back hardened fighters. In the years after the War of the Lance, Gadion demanded his tribute but was denied for the first time because of the returning soliders of the village. Gadion sent his men to raid the town for revenge but they were beaten back. Many of his men were killed. Gadion would not be defeated. He called in a favor from the Black Robe, Maddoc, and asked for use of the creature known as the Beast. Gadion used this Beast to attack the livestock of Potter's Mill, then citizens and vowed that the attacks would not stop until they paid him his tribute. Shemnara, a seer, saw this and through her visions witnessed a group of young heroes who would stop Gadion. The young heroes did come and helped destroy Gadion and his base on Karoc-tor. Davyn, the leader of the heroes, murdered the Beast and Potter's Mill returned to relative peace once more. BuildingsPeople of Potter's MillKirian References
