Vingaard Mountains

The Vingaard Mountain Range is the most dominate physical feature in the nation of Solamnia, and one of the largest mountain ranges on Ansalon. The mountains stretch from just south of Lytburg in the south, to the desert of Destiny's Hand in the northeast, and Signal West in the northwest. When the Cataclysm struck Krynn, most of the Vingaard Mountains escaped being sunk into the oceans or gaining any new peaks.

Many different types of metals and stones are mined and quarried from the mountain range. Some stones include a white stone used in the building of buildings in Palanthas and granite. Metals are mined around the city of Palanthas, which the mountain range isolates and protects. Many rivers start in the Vingaard Mountains, including the Gold River, River of Healing, Silver River, and the Vingaard River.

Besides Palanthas being located in the mountains, the cities of Egaard, Ironrock, Deepdel, Manydell, Potter's Mill, Naergoth, Plains View, and Bright Hart are located either in the mountain range or along the foothills. The mountains also house some interesting sites including the Footprint of Chaos and Fount of Wisdom.
