Celestial Ladders

Before the Chaos War, Ansalon was home to three Celestial Ladders: the Moon Steps found in Northern Ergoth, the Silver Stair found in Schallsea, and the Star Stones found in Nereka. Only visible in moonlight, they appear to be staircases hung in midair that would spiral up high into the sky.

Powers

It is believed that if someone climbed a celestial ladder that it would take the person to the home to one of the gods of magic. Also, some believe that worthy individuals would be taken to Godshome and those not found worthy would be taken to the Abyss. After the Chaos War, the Silver Stair instead started to grant those who climbed it insightful visions.

Summer of Chaos

After the three moons vanished, the Moon Steps and Star Stones collapsed.

Citadel of Light

In 391 AC, Goldmoon and her order of Mystics choose the Silver Stair as the site to center their Citadel of Light.

A Fourth Ladder

The Silver Stairway in the Dragon Isles is sometimes considered a celestial ladder.
