The Black Forests

Article written by Uziel

The Black Forests are a stretch of woodlands that dominate the furthest eastern and northern parts of Taladas. The southern half of the Black Forests lie on the central easternmost point of Taladas, eastwards of The Burning Sea and northwards of Neron and Baltch. The northern half of the Black Forests lie on a vast peninsula, eastwards of Old Aurim and southwest of the Rainward Isles.

Prior to the Great Destruction, the Black Forests were rich and verdant forests that formed the eastern reaches of the Aurim Empire. They were known to be filled with pines and hardwood trees, as well as be rich with game and possess good farmland.

When the Great Destruction occurred and the continent split, the Black Forests were formed when sulphuric rains poured over the woodlands, and poisonous gasses from the Burning Sea wafted over the area. The realm is now filled with twisted plants and trees and is inhabited by all manner of dark creatures.
